Philip admits spotting her from across the bar where the two had both been invited to through a mutual friend. His creative and witty “Hi” was the opening line to what would be the beginning of what would a lifetime of love! They quickly engaged in conversation which led them to find out they would both be attending another mutual friends gathering a few weeks later.
To Philips dismay Alisa never came due to her sister coming into town. As fate would have it another mutual friend was holding his annual Oscar’s party where Alisa was to be a guest. They immediately were drawn to the other. Philip bet her dinner on the best supporting actor role category. Awwww how cute! Alisa won so she decided where to have dinner on what would be their first of many dates.
Philip wanted to make sure the surprise element would be involved in his proposal. The couple were to go on a 2 week European excursion and Philip knew his only shot to have the shock factor would be before they left. He told Alisa he had a surprise for her one random Saturday. He first suggested renting Jet Ski’s for a ride on the Hudson. She quickly reminded how disgusting the water is so he rapidly changed his plans. He moved on to his second arrangement for the evening, which was to take to see Phantom of the Opera. He tried to plan a lot of events to happen in a short timeframe that led them to deter from his original plan and threw him nervously off base. It wouldn’t be until they arrived back home, after dinner & movie, to their apartment that he got down on one knee and did the deed. How perfect and intimate, just the two of them in their home!
Alisa & Philip were married on March 10, 2012 at the University Club in NYC. Courtney Preston of Save the Date planned the beautiful day.
We would like to thank you Alisa & Philip for your story!
