“I was, and am, truly the luckiest woman in the world to be married to my best friend. Nothing better than that!”
~Alisa
Alisa & Nick can thank Alisa’s Maid of Honor, Genna, for their introduction. She took on the role as cupid matching up “the two funniest people I know”.
Nick disclosed he needed a date for his upcoming fraternity party so Genna, without notifying Alisa for her consent, sent a picture to Nick. Alisa agreed to go with Nick but only stayed for an hour as she had a massive paper due the next morning at 8am. Nick wasn’t thrilled with her abrupt depart but after a few months had passed the two reconnected. Their whirlwind friendship turned romance began and never ended. Alisa says, “We were literally inseparable and spent so much time together that the time flew by so quickly because we were having so much together.” Even to this day they love staying up late laughing, watching old movies, chatting, and making others laugh with their hilarious imitations. The pair also enjoys trips to the Casinos and reminiscing about old college tales.
Alisa sweetly gushes, “Over the course of our 9 yr relationship there are so many moments that Nick continues to show how amazing he really is and how lucky I am.” Their engagement would certainly be one of them. A week before Nick did the deed they were alerted to the fact that Alisa’s Grandmother was diagnosed with terminal cancer. Being a huge fan of Nick’s he realized that this was the time to ask her to spend the rest of her life with him.
Nick called Alisa at work insisting they have a nice dinner out that evening even though he just started law school. He drove through a ferocious hail rainstorm and met her at a local Japanese restaurant close to her apartment. After dinner the sky cleared and Nick recommended a walk in the park. Two minutes in Nick lowered to one knee and ask her to be his. Alisa happily accepted and was eternally grateful that she could share this happy moment with her Grandma. Even though she didn’t make it to her wedding a part of her spirit did as Alisa rocked her garter from her wedding!
Alisa & Nick were married on October 20, 2012 at Roslyn Royalton, which was decorated with flowers by Arlene Lee from Stefans. Alisa stunningly wore a Vera Wang gown with makeup by our good friend Anne DeMarco. Alisa & Nick both agree that their day was impossibly flawless as they shared the most special moment surrounded by friends and family. Alisa recalls,”One of my favorite memories of the day was Nick’s tear stained face as I approached the Chuppa. The happy couple looks forward to beginning the next chapter of their lives.
A special thank you to Alisa & Nick for allowing us to partake in your special memories…
