This love story started in middle school! Melissa & Jake met for the very first time in 6th grade math class. Naturally they fell into a similar circle of friends and they went to the Senior Prom together. It was around the time of the Prom that they started unofficially “dating”.
After high school the two parted ways and went off to college. Jake went to Colby in Maine, and Melissa went to GW in DC. They spoke a few times here and there, but then reconnected freshmen year over Thanksgiving break. After opening up a dialogue again they couldn’t stop talking and realized that their feelings for each other were very serious.
How he proposed?
Jake proposed in the apartment that the two have been sharing for 3 years together in the Flatiron. He popped the question on Friday June 21, 2013 as soon as she got home from work. He was waiting with a dozen peonies (Melissa’s favorite flower) and champagne.
The Wedding took place September 6, 2014 at Studio Square in Long Island City. Quinn Florist helped decorate the gorgeous space. The coupled celebrated with Around Town Entertainment.
Officiants: Rabbi Steven Blane and Rev. Johann Bosman
The Bride was breathtaking in her Monique Lhuillier gown!
Thank you Melissa & Jake for sharing your special day & story with us!
