One of those rare born-and-bred New Yorkers, Barbara began life as a Manhattan aspiring artist – and admits that she first picked up a camera because she couldn’t get the drawings and paintings to look like what she saw in her head! Luckily for her – and for brides and grooms everywhere – she did and discovered not only a unique gift and love for photography, but for photographing people, events, emotions…… and each and every engaging nuance of pivotal moments one should never forget.
After attending college in Arizona majoring in studio art and specializing in photography, Barbara returned to her hometown of NYC and launched her photography career in commercial production working with large-scale fashion clients such as Victoria’s Secret.
A young mother with two small children at home, Barbara began to explore outside of the fashion world and noticed that wedding photography was beginning to take an artistic, creative turn. She was called on to bring her exceptional talents to assist in a wedding shoot 25 years ago, and thankfully accepted. The joy she received from watching others bond their love was priceless – and there began a love for wedding photography and an illustrious career she has been happily developing ever since!
Barbara has been an integral part of Anthony Vazquez Photography for over twenty years and feels truly blessed. She loves flexing her artistic muscles every weekend to create magnificent, deeply resonant and soulful images that capture each moment in all of its stunning vivacity – and be part of a living memento for bride and grooms for years and generations to come. She sums it up, “I truly have my dream job, as a person, an artist and a chronicler of joy!“
