I will start off by saying that I go to about 50 weddings a year and each one is so special and unique. That being said, I have a lot of ideas for my own wedding, since I have seen so many! So I wanted to do something a little more “out of the box” for our engagement shoot that felt fun and whimsical. After some collaborative brainstorming with our team, we decided it would be fun to do an engagement shoot set in a different era. The hard part was finding just the right clothing that emulated the old-school vibes we were going for. So after a few days of shopping and texting lots of pictures back and forth, our “costumes” were decided on and we were ready to go.
We found an adorable, seemingly deserted block with old, grey cobblestones in Tribeca that set the tone for the 1940’s shoot. We started shooting and easily fell into the rhythm of posing, adjusting and most importantly having fun – The spontaneous shots are some of my favorites from the shoot. So after seeing the photos, ordering lots of prints and a couple of canvas’ for our apartment, we are more excited than ever for our wedding… and wedding photos of course!
