Fate will find a way! For many reasons, Heather and Eli should have met years earlier. The couple talks about being at the same parties and having a ton of mutual friends, but yet they never crossed paths. Destined to be together, the two would meet fall of their junior year in college. They stayed at NYU for a Jewish Holiday weekend. Just when they were both about to leave for the evening they were introduced. After the introduction at NYU, they spoke almost every day after that.
Shortly after meeting, Heather got good news that she was accepted to Study Abroad for the spring semester. They discussed making it official right before she was getting ready to live half way around the world for 6 months. Eli expressed that he knew it was love even before Heather went abroad. He went to visit her for 3 weeks while she was there. Heather said, “The minute he left I realized I couldn’t imagine my life without him and the rest as they say is history. We became official 3 days after I arrived back in the U.S.”
Eli proposed on a beautiful summer night in the Berkshires. They were staying at Heather’s twin sister Jenn’s boyfriend’s country house for the weekend. When everyone decided to go to bed, Eli asked Heather if she was interested in staying up and stargazing on the porch. This is something Heather truly misses while being in NYC, so of course she said yes. Heather shared a little inside note that plays a big role in the proposal. Over the years she collected 20+ Starbucks Mugs from all her travels, her favorite one being Hawaii (she travels every year with her family). Heather said, “next thing I know he’s bringing out a bottle of wine and my Waikiki Starbucks mug. At first I was confused not sure how one of my prized possessions ended up here, but when I looked inside the mug I read the words, “Will You Marry Me.”
Congratulations Heather & Eli! Thank you for sharing your story and fabulous day with us!
